A closer look at the components behind precision measurement.

The Multi Measurement Device (MMD) is a versatile measurement instrument equipped with a 32‑bit ARM Cortex‑M4 core, high‑speed processing capability, and advanced signal‑handling features. It is designed for precise measurement and control tasks in tough industrial conditions. The MMD Box also includes a 4.3" display and audible alerts to support clear operation and feedback.
A measuring wheel with an integrated encoder designed for precise measurements on large, slow‑rotating cylinders. It provides stable contact with the surface and delivers consistent accuracy in industrial applications.
A contactless magnetic sensor used to mark the start and end of each measurement cycle. It detects a silicone‑encased magnet mounted on the rotating body and maintains reliable operation within a 50 mm range. This signal is used to capture a full encoder revolution for accurate circumferential measurements. The magnets are available in standard and small sizes.
A laser‑based displacement sensor with a working range of 60 mm to 200 mm. It is used for non‑contact measurement of deflection, throw, and positional variation on rotary equipment, providing reliable operation in industrial field conditions.
A SICK IMA inductive sensor with a 30 mm body diameter and a 40 mm detection range. Suitable for applications requiring extended sensor‑to‑surface distance, such as large rotary equipment.
A SICK IMA inductive sensor with an 18 mm body diameter and a 20 mm detection range. Used when additional clearance is required between the sensor and the target surface.
A SICK IMA inductive sensor with an 18 mm body diameter and a 10 mm detection range. Suitable for close‑range radial or axial displacement measurement on metallic surfaces.
A compact Baumer inductive sensor with a 2 mm body diameter and a 5 mm detection range. Used for short‑range displacement measurements on small components or in confined mounting areas.
The 4‑cell 3200 mAh Li‑ion battery pack includes an embedded Battery Management System (BMS) for safe operation and charge control. Its detachable design supports compliance with international transport regulations.
The dedicated charging unit includes an LED indicator that displays the battery's charge status during operation.

Explore the measurement scenarios behind rotary equipment inspection.

The MMD System records a full circumference profile on rotary equipment using encoder + trigger synchronization. This gives accurate diameter values on hot kilns and helps confirm alignment, fit, and general condition during short maintenance stops.

High-precision inductive sensors measure shell eccentricity and throw directly. These readings show how the shell moves under load and temperature and make it easier to spot geometric changes that influence alignment.

Misalignment creates cyclic loads that wear tyres, rollers, and bearings. The MMD System tracks axial movement and geometric drift in real time, supporting rotary equipment inspection and helping teams correct alignment before it becomes a problem.

Excessive radial and axial runout in the girth gear triggers vibrations and premature wear on drive components. The MMD System accurately maps these deviations to maintain optimal gear-pinion alignment and extend the service life of the entire drive assembly.

Long rotary equipment bends under thermal gradients and uneven support. The laser-based distometer module measures axial deflection and vertical displacement without contact and shows exactly how much the shell is bending.

Tyre migration is a key indicator of the clearance between the shell and the tyre. By tracking this movement, the MMD System helps identify mechanical instability early, ensuring timely adjustments to prevent shell constriction or excessive wear.
